Total Spent: $86 - Clothes sold on shop my closet $35 = $51

You may have noticed that the past few months of keeping track of my closet additions and monthly spending that I subtract what I made on clothes I sold from my total. I know not everyone else does this, but I think that if I am making money by getting rid of some clothes, that justifies adding it to my budget for new clothes! Am I right?? I still haven't set an actual budget for clothes yet, but I definitely always want to keep it under $100 a month. Even spending over $50 a month seems like a bit much for me unless I purchase long time, versatile items. I am SO cheap, y'all!

I'm getting really behind on posts again, so I figured I'd give y'all a two for one special today. No, not margaritas y'all, outfits. Two outfits! Though I'd much rather two margaritas right now...
You guyz, I know I've mentioned the whole instagram shopping thing like 10 times already on the blog, but it is so addicting!! I got these pants and the skirt from the same shop, and now that I know that obvisously this seller is the same size as me, it'll be easy to buy from her again! What's cool about instashopping is you can ask as many questions about the items as you want, get measurements, and see the items on. I tried ordering from Thredup once and ended up with a dress the length of a shirt. That wouldn't happen with instashopping! Another plus to it is if you order something and it doesn't fit you can always just resell it!

aero blazer

IMG_9542
Blazer: Aeropostale $25
Apt. 9 Blouse: Kohl's $16 (used Kohl's cash)
Gap Jeans: Plato's Closet $12
Flats: Payless $20
Necklace: Garage Sale $1
Total Outfit Cost: $58

I saw this blazer on Lauren over at Exploring My Style and was in love. I quickly went over to Aeropostale.com and surely enough, it was on sale! I usually don't like to spend over $20 for something (other than shoes) but I definitely don't mind it for this because I know I'll be getting a ton of wear out of it just like my coral blazer!
Speaking of Aeropostle, I haven't shopped there in forever and actually never really have, but my very first job ever was there! I was 16, and it was the summer before my senior year in high school. My friend Kaylee and I got the job there together as sale's associates for the summer. I only worked there for 2 months, and oh man it was an experience. Since I was a newbie the whole time I worked there I often had to work the dreaded dressing rooms. If you've ever worked retail, you understand and know that people shopping are just awful. I'll never forget this one lady brought her two boys with her, and she put them in a dressing room next to her while she tried on clothes... LOTS of clothes. Well. These two boys were cutting up the whole time, annoying the crap out of me. Then, I start smelling something gross. The boys were constantly farting in the dressing room! It was disgusting. I'll always say that everyone should work a day of retail to experience a sales associate/cashier's pain.

a perfect weekend

This weekend was wonderful. My mom and sister came into town Thursday and spent the weekend with us. We started off the weekend bright and early Saturday morning with coffee and blueberry muffins at home. By 9, mom, sista and I were outside in my flower beds (Larry had to work half a day).  We trimmed the bushes and weeded, and then we went to the store and bought a few more flowers. They stayed working outside, and I had a hair appointment for a highlight. I had been still getting my hair done with my hair dresser back where I used to live, but I finally decided to go to someone here. My new girl did an awesome job too!  I'll definitely be going back to her.

When I got back from my hair appointment, we put our swimsuits under our clothes and headed out on my father in laws boat! It was so fun and relaxing and I can't wait to be out on the boat more this summer! When the sun started going down it got a little chilly, but we definitely won't have to worry about that much longer. When we were done on the boat, mom, sista, and I hung out in the hot tub with my mother in law! By the end of the day, I was somehow the only one not sun burnt. Mwhaha.
easterweekend3

Sunday morning we went to church and heard a wonderful message. Then, we all hung out at Larry's Granny's for the rest of the day. Good food and good company for sure. We watched the boys play football and the little ones chase after a puppy and throw rocks in the ditch. It was a perfect weekend indeed. I love this time of year, and I'm looking forward to many more weekends just like this!

Happy Monday! Welcome to Nicole & I's third Many Days, Many Ways Link up! To be honest with y'all, I kinda almost forgot about it this month, so I had to put this post together very last minute. Luckily, I knew of one piece in my closet that I've gotten a lot of wear out of and could showcase this month, my coral blazer! It's easily one of my favorite items in my entire closet! When I was looking at all the ways I've worn it, I noticed that I've pretty much worn it with neutrals and a pop of turquoise. I've also worn it once with my navy gingham. I knew that I wanted to pair it with my awesome Gap bell bottoms this time around, and I could have easily gone for my white button up, but I wanted to try something different. I had to think to myself what other colors go with coral. I decided I wanted to try yellow and coral together. It was easy to pick a top because turns out, this is the only yellow shirt I have! It's not my favorite pairing, but hey, it works! I plan to continue wearing this blazer this spring and summer for sure! How would you suggest I style it next?

Hi and happy Friday! Work has been crazy busy this week, therefore I am short on words for y'all. I've been getting home from work, and the last thing I want to do is look at the computer screen again.

I know this is short notice, but Nicole and I will be hosting another round of the many days, many ways link up this Monday! I know last time I said the 19th of every month, but we decided push it to Monday since the 19th falls on a Saturday, and many of us bloggers don't blog on Saturdays.

Anyways, Happy Easter! Hope ya'll have a fabulous weekend with your families celebrating our amazing savior!

Friday at work we had our Easter potluck. For Thanksgiving we went eat Chinese, and called it our Chinese Thanksgiving, so somehow we came up with having a Mexican Easter potluck! We had chips, queso, salsa, enchiladas, Mexican cornbread, I made a taco ring, and lots of other yummies. We all also wore pastel colors and played some games. We started off the day with a jelly bean flavor guessing game. It was awful. We each had 6 jelly bean flavors in our bag. When I tasted my brown jelly bean, I had to spit it out. It was possibly the worst thing I've ever tasted in my life. I wrote down 'burrito' for the flavor. Turns out, each of us had 1 different flavor than the rest of the gang in each of our bags. That brown jelly bean I ate was "earth worm" flavor. Others had mud flavor, black pepper flavor, etc. Supposedly these nasty jelly beans are Harry Potter jelly beans. Gross. Just gross. And for the record, I didn't even guess one flavor right. I had put down toothpaste for the rootbeer flavored one...

out of the rut

Body by Victoria Blazer: Goodwill $5
Shirt: Target (super clearance) $3
Necklace: Forever 21 $9
Pants: Old Navy $26
Heels: Target (BOGO) $22
Total Outfit Cost: $65

A few weeks ago, I was in such a clothing rut. I felt like I couldn't put together an outfit on my own to save my life. I kept having to turn to Pinterest and my fellow blog friends for inspiration just to get dressed in the morning. I think it was mainly because I had enough of my winter clothes. But finally, FINALLY, spring has sprung! The weather has been amazing the last 2 weeks. And finally I feel like my creative juices are flowing again! I've been loving my outfits lately! I'm happy to get dressed in the morning again, and I really haven't even been on Pinterest much. I feel like myself again. Did this extra long winter get you in a rut?

When you're taking outfit photos for a blog multiple times a week, you become a lot more aware of what you wear. When I first started blogging, I realized that I only wore one color at a time and paired it with neutrals. I didn't really know how to put different color combinations together. I finally think I've got it though! I love different shades of blue and yellow together like in this outfit here and  in yesterdays outfit. I especially love navy and mustard together. I've also worn coral and turquoise, mint and navy, purple and navy, olive and coral, and olive and pink. What are some of your favorite color combinations to wear?

Last time I wore these pants Lauren asked what kind of shoes I wear with these pants... SUPER tall wedges!

So my mom and I went to a huge neighborhood garage sale Saturday, and we racked up! We both found so many goodies! It was a blast and definitely worth waking up at 6am. Yeah people, we were those crazy people that left our house at like 6:45 in the morning. If you've never been to a garage sale before, you definitely should! Garage sales are where you find the real deals and steals because people are just ready to get rid of their stuff. Most of the things I buy are only 50 cents to $1! After this past weekends luck, I will garage sale-ing away this spring and summer!

Target Blazer: Instagram Shop $12
Pants: Old Navy $26
LC Blouse: Kohl's, gift carded
BCBG Generation Flats: Marshall's $25
Bracelet: Goodwill $3
Total Outfit Cost: $67
I bought this blazer from an instagram shop, so it's not something that I was able to try on prior to buying.  I had a feeling it might be a little big on me, but I said what the heck, and bought it with hope that it'd fit. Unfortunately, it did turn out to be a little big. It's already what's considered a boyfriend blazer, but I still don't think it fits like it's supposed to. So, I thought to even it out I'd wear something super girly and some tight pants. I think this outfit is just ok. Kinda boring. Oh well. If you have any insight on styling this blazer, throw it at me!
I'm so glad it's Friday! I'm back to the Monday-Friday shift at work, so you know what that means?? Garage sale-ing on Saturdays!! I'm actually going to my hometown this weekend, so my mom and I will be going hit up some yard sales first thing in the morning. I can't wait!

the blazer is back

I wore this blazer so much last spring and summer, and you better believe that it's be back again this year! Unfortunately, there are two pieces here that are definitely needing replacements: my leopard flats and my lace blouse. I remember that I got these flats sometime in the fall of 2011, and they have definitely gotten their full use by now. The sole of them are slightly falling apart, and the fabric is ripping. There's nothing really wrong with the lace blouse, but I think that I want to replace it with one that's better quality and thicker. I've been looking for new flats, but I just haven't had any luck with finding any that I like as much as these! I've considered the loafer style too, but the ones I tried on at target weren't comfortable. Anyone have any suggestions?
